When new prints arrive

Gorwel adds prints in two rhythms: one planned, one set by the surveys.

The Open Rota: once a year, in July. Each year, in the week of the Open Championship, we release that year's venue as a new edition (or re-issue it drawn from the newest survey), alongside the rest of the rota.

Restorations: monthly. Of 394 courses drawn, 315 are on sale. The rest are held back because the survey data, the routing or the drawing wasn't good enough yet. When a newer survey is flown or a check is fixed, a held course is redrawn, re-checked from scratch, and restored. Restorations go live on the first Tuesday of each month.

New surveys: as they're published. The Scottish Remote Sensing Portal, the Environment Agency and DataMapWales publish new LIDAR phases through the year. When one covers a course we've drawn, we check whether the new data draws a truer print.

Letters go out when something is released: Occasional letters. New courses, occasional editions. No noise.
